I\'m 21 y/o 200lbs male
Sorry for the nasty stuff im ganna say.
For sometime now Ive been having bloody stool. Its not every time I have it. I have no pain. the blood seem bright red and sometimes it thick blood and it turn the toilet water red.

Ive talked to my doctor and there going to give me a colonoscopy next week. I\'m just worried about this. what could it be. some people say it might be hemorrhoid but I keep thinking its something worse.

Hemorrhoids.  or anal fissures.  Those are the only two causes of bright red blood.  The doctor should have done an exam himself before sending you to the GI.  A colonoscopy isn’t going to find anything.  Like I said bright red blood means that’s its near the anus or right inside.

Is your stool hard when this happends? Might cause a little tear if it is.

Whatever it is, it\'s not in your stomach or upper intestines/colon. If this was the case, you would have black or tarry stools.

Sounds like you might have hemorrhoids. You might also have patches of skin in your lower colon that stick out, and then when your body is trying to pass stools, it gets caught and scratches these patches of skin and causes bleeding.

The very extreme case is that it could be lower colon cancer. I don\'t mean to worry you, this is very rare and you would most likely have many other noticable symptoms if you are at the point of bleeding.

Try not to strain when you use the toilet. Also drink lots of water and eat foods with fiber in them. If you don\'t like any food with fiber in it, use fiber supplements. This will help you pass stools easier and it will make them softer so that they will not cause bleeding until your doctor figures out what\'s going on.

Could be hemorrhoids, could be colitis, an ulcer, GI bleed, cancer (God forbid), diverticulosis, polyps, and parasites.  So you see there are a bunch of possibilities, at any rate, I wish you well.  I am glad you are going to see the dr.
