please help, my hemorrhoids are worse than ever!?

I have suffered with hemorrhoids for a few years now, but I have been doing very well for the last 9 months with no flare ups at all.

I was in a car accident last weekend and due to the back pain resulting from the accident, I had become very constipated, after a week of not yet going to the toilet I decided enough was enough and took some laxatives (under doctors recommendation) last night.

I woke up with the worst tummy ache ever this morning and went (well ran) to the toilet and as I was err, \'relieving\' myself my hemorrhoids decided to burst and now I am in the worse pain with them then I ever have been!  I tried applying germoline suppositories for inside and cream outside but it hasn\'t really helped!

any advice out there?  What else can I do? I\'m in so much pain but because of the suppositories, I have been going to the loo every 30 minutes or so and it is just irritating it even more :-(

try a brand of hmerroid cream/pessaries that includes cortesone - (dont know if thats spelled right)

they were a big relief to me after the birth my my 9 1/2 lb son.

My husband had the same problem last week it was over the weekend so I gave him a single dose (1 tablet) to slow the diarrhea down a little but not enough to get constipated again then I wrapped a light weight towel around a ice bag & had him sit so the cold got to the hemorrhoids it took some of the discomfort away. On Monday he called the Dr. & he gave him a script which was very inexpensive Hope this helps.

hiya, why don\'t you have them removed in hospital.i had mine taken out 4 yrs ago,and i have had no trouble since.is it worth a few days in hospital.i should think so.no more pain.ask your doctor to refer you to see a doctor at the hospital.good luck.

Anusol suppositories work better than anything else. they also produce a stronger one. Works very well on my husband when he has a bleed.

Hey,

Your situation sounds pretty bad, have you seen a doctor about it? That would be my first suggestion. Otherwise, to numb the pain try applying crushed ice wrapped in a thin towel to the wound 4 times per day, 5 – 10 minutes each time. This will reduce swelling and numb the pain. Sitz bathes work well, take a warm sitz bath 2 – 3 times a day for best results.
